What is the name of your state? I recieved my Dui in the state of NH.

I lost my license back 1/16/94. it was ordered that i take a short first offenders class. Shortly thereafter i moved back to california. I tried getting my license but apparently nh refused to release it pending my completion of the class. I never ended up taking the class, however a friend has recenty stated a "new statute of limitation" of 10 years. should i fight the class?

Dear Kathi;

A license is a privelege and a state can refuse to issue you a license for as long as they want. If you fail to complete the conditions of the order, they can withhold your license.

Oh, and don't be surprised if they tell CA about your NH suspension as that would mean that CA would honor that and pull your license here as well.

Unresolved issues tend to stick around until you resolve them. Take the class, it's not painful, and walk away not having to worry or live with this mistake anymore. Just taking a class is teeny tiny price to pay.
