What is the name of your state? NY Ex lived in FL

Could someone explain HOW the NY Statute of Limitations works? It appears to be 6 years for orders prior to 84. 6 years from WHAT? Is it six years for each payment he failed to make or 6 years from the age they attained majority. My second child will soon be 6 years past majority.

WE never left NY (divorce & CS order were NY), but there was a case number in FL in which they were acting as a collection arm for NY. Would that mean the FL Statute would apply, or, since it was always a NY case, would their statute of limitations apply?

I have a guess after reading the SOL's. It appears to me it's 6 years from the date of default.

I am not an attorney, I have no legal education. I only read the statute of limitations and came to that conclusion. Don't let my "guess" alter your life.

Could you show me where you found that? I tried looking and had trouble finding the actual statute. Thanks!

Also, If we never moved from NY, but there was a FL case (for NY CSE) would the FL Statute apply? Or would the actual jurisdiction need to have been moved there?
