I am 21 years old and I live in New York. My boyfriend and I are deeply in love and have talked about sex before - but I am very scared because he is just 15. People would never suspected that I am 6 years older because we look the same age, so do you think that some one would call the police on me if they suspected something? And also, would I get in trouble being that he wants to do it ? Or only if he pressed charges? I understand that statutory rape charges were made to stop teenage pregnancy... so does it still apply being that I'm not a teenager? And what would happen if I was to get in trouble?????

i'll bet mary kay la tourno would have some thing to say about that. sex with a minor is not permissable because a child is not capable fo making adult decissions. what 15 year old wouldn't wanta 21 year old woman to lead him down the road to carnal bliss? heck i'm 50 and i would still like to travel down that road with a 21 year old myself. get a note from his mother and if all else fails i'll get a note from mine, but hurry. my mom is 70 years old and not getting any younger

Who is Mary Kay La Tourno? We've pretty much decided not to have sex anyway... but I was just wondering b/c what if someone thinks we are and says something. Even if it's not true. I dont know what the age of consent is in NY. Not even sure what it means. And why would it be okay for me to go out with a 50 yr old, which is over 30 years older but not for me to go out with some one just 6 years younger?

1) Mary Kay Letourneau was a school teacher in Seattle who had sex (and a child) with a minor and is in prison.

2) And the reason it would be okay for you (as an adult) to 'go out' with a 50 year old is that you are assumed to be mature (psychologically and emotionally) enough to know what you are doing. A minor is NOT given that same assumption.

Find someone your own age (or older) and let this CHILD grow up on his own.

Ok, I read that thing about that teahcer - but I wouldn't compare that to me at all. That teacher was very old and the boy was in sixth grade. As I said, we made the decision not to have any kind of sex at all. I wouldn't call him a child compared to me anyway and his parents see nothing wrong with us being friends. We've been best friends for some time now and have all the same friends, which are mostly from a camp that we both worked at this summer and last. So in your opinion, is it wrong to be friends with someone not because of their age, but because you like them as a person??:(

No, there is nothing wrong with being friends in this situation, but you are claiming to be much more than just 'friends'.

This is shown by the following:
"My boyfriend and I are deeply in love and have talked about sex before... "
"would I get in trouble being that he wants to do it ?"
" I understand that statutory rape charges were made to stop teenage pregnancy... so does it still apply being that I'm not a teenager?"
And even in your selection of a 'handle' for this forum.... scaredandinlove.

So, don't tell us now that you just want to be 'friends, is that okay'!!

Also, there is NO difference between you and Letourneau if you engage in ANY sexual conduct with this child. You risk being charged with a crime of statutory rape. At the very least, you could be charged with 'delinquency of a minor'.

Finally, you say, "his parents see nothing wrong with us being friends". How about if you tell them that you want to introduce their CHILD (15, is still a child no matter how YOU see it!) to the adult world of sex?? I bet that they would see something wrong there!!! And if they didn't, you should be mature to see that this is WRONG and illegal.

Can't you read? I meant that if we were to be just friends instead... I'll wait the god damn year or so... he's just about 16 anyway and in some states that's perfectly legal.. AND his parents said to him that he should be bring condoms when he hangs out with me. So, I think they expect it. You dont know me... but we are on the same maturity level in everyway. Anyone could vouche for that. I dont understand how in one state.. 15 is a child and they can't have sex, but then in other states such as Hawaii or Iowa, you can have sex a 14. Is a kid in Hawaii more of an adult than a kid in NY? And in NY, the age is 17, so i'd only have to wait a year and a month, thats easy. And why would you think I'd be introducing him into the world of ADULT sex???? Sorry, but that would be like 30 years old.. I'm still a virgin and he's NOT, so I think he's a little more experienced than me.

i am sorry but you and his parents need help. you say your are on the same level. which one 15 or 21? let me tell you a short but true story.a buddy of mine fell for a girl that was 21 when he was 16 she used him for all she could because he felt like a MAN having a girl that was 21. he,s now 45 been through 3 failed marrages and serious drinking problems. the girl dumped him when he 18 and old enough to ask her about marrage. you have no idea what is going through this BOY'S mind and body. i have a son that is 16 and the only thing he wants to do is work on his car and stick somthing. grow up . and IF you are a virgin .well if you are a virgin and 21.good save it for marrage to a MAN dont screw up some kids mind.

My response: you'd better keep up with the law because in Hawaii it used to be 14 but a new law passed and age of consent is 16.
Get your facts straight.

like the price of tea in china, the age of consent in hawaii is irrelivant. by the way my mom saya if you ascribe to the maturity of a 15 year old as being your maturity level, maybe i better pass. sorry to disapoint you.

Yeah, you should pass... that's way too old. When I was 16, my boyfriend was 26. No one thought that was wrong, so what is the differece? Just b/c I'm the girl who is older this time? And will you people understand one thing :: THERE IS AND WONT BE ANY SEX INVOVED - I was just doing a question thing. And you know what? My Friend who is now 20, starting going out with this girl when he was 15, and she was 22 and now they are engaged and are getting married next month. And my boss at work's husband is also 7 years younger than her and she's like 27 or something. It's not all that unusual and I will laugh 30 years from now when me and him are living a happy life together. Right now we have 3 years of hell to go through just to be friends b/c of people like you who judge, but 3 years would be nothing b/c after that we have our whole lives.

Scared & in love,

What ever you do make sure you check the laws in NY. I know someone who went through something similar and he found out he was very wrong. You may think the age of consent is 17 but you need to find out if the age of the older person is relivant. Age of consent in Indiana is 16 but only if the other party is under the age of 21. If the 2nd party is over the age of 21 then the age of consent changes to 18. A 25 year old friend slept with a 17 year old girl and got 6 months in jail. Good luck to the both of you!

Thank you wild thing, for actually understanding how I feel. I'll wait however long I need to b/c sex isn't important to me. But all these tradgeties happening right here in NY, got me thinkning also. I don't mind the fact that we maynot even have the time to wait, but I am not going to hold back my love. We could have died this past Tuesday. The only reason I was spared was b/c I felt sick that day and didn't go into the city. I'm thankful for that, but now so many people are so depressed around here and people need me. This guy I like, he needs me too and I need him. We both know someone who perished in this tradgety. I will not stop loving him and I know he loves me too b/c he was there for me when I needed him most.

Love has no boundries

Last Tuesday was a reminder to all of us of one of lifes most painful lessons.

Life is not fair

Some food for thought:
You should leave loved ones with loving words for it may be the last time you see them.

I'm a 34 years old male and I still hug both my mother & father every time I see them. And I still say I Love You to both of them because I know someday they will be gone and don't want there to be any doubt.
