I was ordered to pay support through the court. Now that I have gotten all of the payments up to date, the step father of my son wants to adopt. Since his mother and I agreed to this, will the order be lifted or will have to continue support eventhough I am relinguishing my rights? T

The day the adoption is finalized you will no longer be responsible for any child support.

Does anyone know where this can be verified?

I am in a similar situation.

Thanks

What do you mean where this can be verified? Are you talking about not having to pay child support after the child is adopted? Once the child is adopted, the parent that relinguished their rights IS NO LONGER OBLIGATED TO SUPPORT THE CHILD IN ANY WAY....FINANCIAL OR EMOTIONAL.
