dad should not involve stepmom in ANY decisions involving the kids-she is NOT their parent.i dont get involved in any decisions regarding my stepson ray- cuz frankly its not my place, its between his mom and dad( and hopeefully not his grandmother, who i absolutely cant stand, but thats a whole other story)

being a step parent does NOT make you a doormat to your own husband.Your step parental 'rights" begin and end in your own home.

I expect to be consulted by my husband on any decision involving MY home and MY budget. thats just common courtesy, and part of being in a good marriage.

ultimately it is his decision, but to say you have no input is really ridiculous in my opinion.

I agree! No one should expect to not have input in their own homes.

i leave well enough alone

yes ray lives with us, my HUBBY has full custody. i dont feel its my place to make any decisons regarding ray, as he is not my son. plus, i dont want to hear any crap from his grandmother, she meddles enough as it is, and i would rather not have to hear her mouth.and i know darn good and well she would have something to say about it, she cant keep her nose out of anyone's business.
