I'm from Canada and I married an american 3 years ago and recently got my permanent residency. I have a daughter from a previous relationship and have sole custody of her. My husband would to adopt her and we would like to know what is the best way to go about it. I should also mention that she is Canadian and I have not yet filed her immigration paper work because I'm not sure which to do first, adoption or visa. any information would be helpful, thank you.

Her biological father legally gave up his rights along time ago, he has nothing to do with us.
