What is the name of your state?IL My stepdaughter (16) went to live with her mom in August, because she "didn't like the rules here" and my husband, not wanting to alienate his daughter, let her go. He got custody in 1997 due to drug use by the mom's boyfriend (who is now her husband). No papers have been filed by the mom changing custody back to her and my husband is voluntarily givng her back 1/2 the child support we get from her.

We saw my husband's daughter tonight and she told my husband that things are not going well at her mom's with regard to the stepfather. Apparently he starts arguments and drags my stepdaughter into them, ultimately resuting in his blaming her for the entire incident. He blames anything and everything on her. As a result, she is spending more and more time at her boyfriends house (which is 2 houses down from her mom's). In the event my husband finds out that my sd is living with her boyfriend and his parents, can my husband decide to just pull her out of there and bring her home?

Since custody was never modified, he still has it and can bring her home when ever. He really should if she is in an unstable enviorment with Mom. Rules are there for a reason. Tell him to stick to his guns.
