From Indiana. My husband has costody of his son Kyle from an ex-girlfriend. She is curently cohabitating with 2 men she has had past relations with and is married to a man in prision. We have suspected child sexual abuse from her father for over 4 yrs. She had stated many times that he had molested her and her brother as children for many yrs. When she moved her parents into her house with Kyle and his 3 younger siblings we filed for custody. It took 11 months. She called us 8 days ago distraut and crying uncontrolable. She said her father tried to comit suicide the same weekend Kyle was visiting. Also that her father was commited and confesed to the molestation of herself. She said she was going to press charges and get a lie detector test for her dad about not molesting her kids. She asked that we keep Kyle for a while on her visitation days as she was very stressed and that "this would be the only way she could protect him right now". We have started audio taping the phone calls. She said there is a social worker and police but she does't remember thier names. We called police and they don't have any reports yet. Kyle has had therapy for many yrs with us and it has been said that he shows 9 out of 10 major signs of being molested. He refuses to talk about "good and bad touch" and covers his ears. We have had many behavior problems with Kyle at home and school. We want to protect him from any abuse. We were in court today for her not paying support. She has 60 days to comply and also a suspended work release order. :( She said she is now the power of attorny for her dad and has to take care of him. We are very concerned that he may be back at her house. She has tried to comit suicide also. Can't she be in trouble for not protecting her kids from someone who abused her. How can we stop her from placing Kyle at risk in such an unstable household Without placing ourselfs in contempt of the previous visitation order. How can we get more info on the mental health of herself and her father to benifit Kyle. How can we keep from feeding Kyle to these sick people and what about the other kids.
What can an attorny do for us? What is our next step.

Your husband can file for a modification requesting temporary supervised visits, whether or not that happens depends on the circumstances and evidence.

its not "we" its him

"we" cant do anything.you have no standing to do anything, you are a legal stranger, and have no rights to the kids.this is something for your husband to work out.
