What is the name of your state? Illinois

We a had a company come to our door and said they were in our area dealing with hail damage claims for siding. If we wanted they could see if we had a claim for our insurance co. My husband does not read english so the guy from the company told him that he needed him to sign this paper so that he can speak to our insurance company. They did not tell us we could cancel this within 3 days. It has now been about two months and we still haven't started the work. They called me about one week ago and said they needed to talk to my insurance again for more money. My insurance has already sent me a check for what they are going to pay.

The agreement my husband signed read as follows:

TERMS:

This agreement does not obligate the homeowner or XXX in any was unless it is approved by the insurance company and accepted by XXX. By signing this agreement the homeowner authorizes XXX to pursue homeowner's best interest for siding replacement or repair at a price agreeable to the insurance co. and XXX, with no additional cost to the homeowner, except for the deductible.

Can we cancell this contract? I also called some references and they were not favorable. Is this grounds for cancellation? Do I have any grounds for cancelling this contract?

Of course, no responsible person can answer you without having reviewed the contract in its entirety.

No. You should have done that BEFORE signing.

See above.
