What is the name of your state? FLORIDA

Hello,

I don't know to much about insurance except i'm tired of paying like over $200.00 when I visit a doctor.

I'm 32 & returning to school in Florida.
I'd like to get some health insurance to cover my expenses if I fall ill.

Can anyone please recommend some affordable coverage for older students?

Thanks :)

I just can't resist.... :D

apply for a high deductible individual plan.

You won't pay $200 for a doctor visit, but you will pay the "discounted" rate provided by whatever carrier you end up with for your coverage, as dictated to whatever doctor you go to.

For example, my worst case out of pocket in a year is $2500. Everything I spend goes towards that ( doctor visits, pharmacy, etc. ). It costs me $80 bucks a month and I'm 39. The key is to buy INSURANCE.... don't buy OFFICE VISITS you will never use. Pay for the small stuff yourself and let those amounts apply to the deductible. Save the big stuff for the insurance. Just like your car insurance. You don't buy oil change insurance, and you shouldn't buy "copays"if you are paying for the premium yourself. It's that simple.

I don't know how FL handles individual insurance, however. You may not have too many options.

Only if the Physician you use is contracted by/participates with the insurance plan. If they're non-par, they do not have to "discount" their fees.

Sorry Tim, just wanted to clarify. ;)
