What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Hi, I am taking someone to small claims court over a car accident, but I don't want them knowing my address when we go to court (fear of retaliation). Is there any way I can sue without them knowing where I live? I was thinking PO box, but those cost more money.

thanks

I didn't know, was looking, and then realized it's Friday night and I figured you should start your research process: http://www.courts.ca.gov/selfhelp-smallclaims.htm

thanks, that sarcasm was fantastic, although it lead to no answer because there is nothing there relating to my specific question.

Guess you're not smart enough to notice the list of small claims advisors by county, nor to resolve to call yours on Monday, nor to read all around the CA small claims pages to prep.

Nor does it appear you are smart enough to express gratitude in a pleasant manner.

Because this is a time-sensitive matter, and forums are designed to get responses quickly and with multiple opinions, and also because it is the weekend before Christmas, (which is when most are on vacation) I was hoping to get an answer instead of being forwarded to a California law page. If I had spent time to find this forum and register for it for my previous reasons, it dumfounds me why someone would forward me through the long route of calling "the office". Now, I feel like I am 250 characters over of typing a rebuttal to a response that could have been answered in a few minutes. On top of that, your response insinuating that a thanks is expected, baffles me even more. Congrats on adding a +1 and +2 to your navel of 27,981 thread responses.

If anybody else can respond, that would be appreciated.

No can do. California's approved form for such a filing (SC-100) requires, among other things, that the full name and street address of the claimant/plaintiff be listed.

Nonsense. What a spoiled child you are!

You can't file on Friday night, nor at any time Saturday or Sunday. The info you sought was not "urgent."

You do realize that the VOLUNTEERS on this site are not required to submit to your "spur of the moment" demands?

Hire an attorney on Monday. Spend enough and you won't have to wait.
