I know it's taken a while, but, I won my appeal! My ex's child support was raised by $115 per month. I was told that under no circumstances was my boyfriend's income to be taken into consideration, and that I could not be forced into marriage. The increased cs amount wasn't retroactive, but that doesn't matter to me. My ex was fuming! He was ranting and raving about the "corrupt system" screwing his family. He has informed me that he is now going to try to terminate his parental rights to our daughter because he just can't afford the child support. We'll see how that goes. I just wanted to give a quick update. Thank you for all your responses, I wouldn't have known what to do without all of you!!!

Congrats! and thanks for coming back and updating us.

Thanks for the update - most people don't bother.

It's nice to see that the system sometimes works the way it should - although it's unfortunate that you had to go through all of that.

This is out of my league - can someone here say whether it is possible to report a judge to the Bar or someone else for judicial misconduct in OP's state? Clearly, that judge should have recused himself. The fact that his ruling was overturned and his reasoning was shown to be completely bogus should help with a misconduct claim.

When a lawyer becomes a judge, he or she resigns from the state bar.

Most states have a Judicial Commission to oversee judicial behavior.

Kentucky: Court of Justice - Overview

The Judicial Conduct Commission is the only entity authorized under the Kentucky Constitution to take disciplinary action against a sitting Kentucky judge. The Commission investigates and reviews complaints against judges and, when warranted, conducts hearings regarding the alleged misconduct where evidence is presented.

The judge is in this case should certainly be reported to the Judicial Conduct Commission.

The state won't let him do that.
