taking a name back

What is the name of your state? Indiana
My ex wife has remarried and changed her name ( I know because her child support checks go to her new last name) She has divorced since then and is now using whatever name she wants. I want to know if I can legally keep her from using my last name. The only reason this has come up is because she is trying to ruin my life. She is using my last name and my address for things because she has ruined her name and local credit. Like for health club dues, movie accounts, local store credit. So when she doesn't pay they come looking for me. I know for a fact she opened one account and made it look like the two of us were opening like we were still married. We do not even speak! When they called looking for their stuff i told them to look he up in the book under her LEGAL last name. And viola, they found her. I hate to be juvenile and try to take my name back but I feel like this could be a snowball effect soon leading to bigger debt. She probably does know my SSN while we were married she got credit cards in my name. So after all this babbling can I make her stop using my name?. And further more is it a crime for her to use my address? She has not lived here for over 6 years. Any input is helpful. Thanks

She can use any name she chooses and you owe your child all you can give. Instead of supporting your wife and child you have abandoned them to commit adultery. Why shouldn't she have a health club membership, movie accounts and new clothes while you are out screwing around on her?

When a couple divorces the woman is given the OPTION to take back her former name or keep the married name -- it is not the choice of the husband, but of the wife.....so, no, legally you cannot force her to not use "your" name......
As to the address question - I am not sure what *your* legal avenues of recourse would be but I am sure that as the number of creditors pile up and realize that she has committed fraud on them (giving false info on the credit apps, etc) it will be of interest to them........

apparently "Son of Slam" reads things and just makes them say whatever he wants. No where did I say OR imply that I abandoned a child, or committed adultry or as you say "screwed around" . It looks like you need to look around and understand people get divorced.......as bad as it is 60% of people get divorced and sometimes believe it or not it was probably for the best. Now, I'm not denying the child. But my problem is I want my ex wife to stop filling out paperwork, applications and vouchers as though we are still married. She is putting BOTH of our names and MY address on things. In turn they are looking for me to get paid. I feel it is my responsibility to support my child not my ex wife. We were married less than a year and Indiana is a no alimony state and it's none of your business but she was the one "srewing around" so I left and she married him shortly after. Now ahe is simply lying to get out of paying things. If she wants to use my last name fine but shouldn't she legally have to pick just ONE last name to go by?
