state is oklahoma;

my son is a 17 year old father to be, his girlfriend is 16. the mother of his girlfriend won't sign for them to get married and is wanting her daughter to give baby up to daughters aunt. neither minor parent wants to give up baby. does my son have any legal right to stop this action. can her mother force her to give up baby or does it take consent of both minor parents? I have already assumed some financial support for minor mother and baby to come, in the way of maternity clothes, baby bed,stroller,infant seat, car seat, misc. baby items, on behalf of my son. they sought medical, and wic support on thier own.

Thank you

They can NOT adopt the baby out with out your consent.

I think the best way for you to handle this is to MAKE SURE that you are at the birth and sign the birth certificate. Otherwise, they could try to claim she doesn't know the father and fighting an adoption that has already taken place is more expensive both in dollars and emotions.
