My father is seriously ill in a hospital. He has a live-in companion that is not on his lease in the apartment, nor on his personal accounts, but does have access to them through atm cards. My father has expressed the need to remove this person from the house and his life, but we dont know how to do this. The companion does recieve mail there, and has lived there for the last 8 years, but does not contribute to the financial situation at all. I need help, because the companion is sucking the life from my father and what money he has left.

What you do is stop wasting time on this board and get yourself down to a local attorney immediately. You need to get a Power Of Attorney for your fathers estate drawn up and then immediately cancel all bank cards and access to his accounts. The POA is the most important thing, then discuss getting them evicted from the house.

Good luck.
