What is the name of your state? I am in UTAH

I was slammed by MCI about a year ago...after my first bill from them I reported to them to disconnect their service and that I did not ask for it. They refused to remove the service. I called my phone company , told them the situation and we had a 3 person call with MCI. My phone co. told them to cease and desist! I am still gettting bills each month! What a joke! I get calls all the time from them threatening me to sue me and to have my phone cut off. Tonite a NEW collections company called for MCI ( they have sent me to 4 so far) This guy told me he KNEW I was on Social Security and that MY bank acct was at $%^#Bank !!!!! He knew my Bank! He also told me they were getting a judgement to seize my bank acct and any assets I have. Now I am on SS Disability and thats all the money I get each month. I barely make it on my benefit of 597.00 as well as supporting a daughter who is 12. Tell me what my options are and what I need to do...Can they really take my cheking acct? Social Security dosnt want to mail me checks they prefer to direct deposit them.....Help....Thank You in advance!!!!!

New York, before they can freeze your checking account they have to take you to court and prove there case, if you don't show up when you get the notice for court then they win. and then they can freeze any asset they find. here in new york if you show the money in the account is your social security check they cann't take it.

SS income is 100% EXEMPT, and even better that its direct deposited because its easy to show the source of the funds and their exempt status.

You need to call your State Attorney General and the FTC. Slamming is illegal and you should not be held liable for their illegal acts.
