Another Tenant...while I don't appreciate the first part of your comment, thank you for addressing my question.

I was simply trying to find a way to exploit the fact an RHD isn't a police officer and possibly couldn't give me a ticket. 50 dollars is a very large fine for such a small thing and of course I would try and fight it.

That's what I was hoping to hear. When I heard that they give tickets because it's 'in their contract' I grew suspicious, never having heard of such a thing. That's why I was hoping that they simply say that to collect the revenue (parking services receives no state funds or university funds).

Well you see, I have covered my bases and my appeal is tomorrow. I have stayed within the time limits and will be just fine. Thank you for your concern though. If my appeal isn't granted tomorrow, I will pay the 50 dollars and know that I did what I could.

Zigner...I know you think you are very intelligent; however, I have no idea where you leave and don't really care to know. I simply know that most sensible people are working for a living instead of lounging around on the internet in the middle of the day. Just saying.

For me, if it takes more than about 15 mins to appeal, it would make more financial sense to just pay.

I have been at contemplating just paying the fine; however, I can't not see it through. There is a chance that it can be repealed and if so, I would be disappointed I didn't stick it through.

We'll have to see what tomorrow brings I suppose.

Update:

Well, I appealed it today and it didn't exactly go as I had hoped. I cited three Wisconsin state laws as well as two University regulations and they essentially said, "tough". They haven't come back with a decision so I'm hoping for the best but expecting to have to pay. Thanks for all the posts guys.
