That is what we ALL really hope for, for our kids' sake.
You are absolutely right butter. We all want what is best for our children. We need to see deep down in their little hearts and wonder what it is they need--for their well being.
We need to simply forget about who are ex really was to us--and focus in on who he is now. People mature, ya know? People do grow up.
For instance, the original poster's ex may one day not smoke pot anymore. He may be the best dad a kid could ask for one day.
My ex smoked pot, he beat me, he emotionally destroyed my self confidence/ self esteem, he stalked me, he destroyed my car...the list could go on forever. But that was when he was 20 yrs old....now he is 28 and he is an AWESOME dad, and my friend. Things change...people change... I'm glad he did.
