To-do List not completed by Landlord

My friend just moved into an apartment last night, and had a list of items that the Landlord was supposed to do before he moved in. As he was moving in, he noticed that none of the items had been done, even though the Landlord called and told him they had been done and that it was ok to move in. Is there something that can be done about getting these items done? I'm pretty sure the to-do list was a verbal agreement and not something in writing. He's got a 1 year lease with the landlord, and the apartment is almost unbearable without the items being done.

you know this in one of those life lessons your friend is learning.....

Just HOW valuable your signiture is, the landlord has a lease and your friend has squat.

Unless it affects the health and safety of the apartment, there is not much that can be done except to take pictures of all that is not fixed, send a letter to the landlord with copies of the pictures and to say you will not be responsible for the damges to the apartment that were not repaired by the landlord, at least this way your friend will have something to sue the landlord in a year when he refuses to give back the security deposit.

Oh well, your fiend could also move out but then your friend is responsible for the rent untill it is re rented.
