What is the name of your state? In Missouri, my car was parked in front of my house when a delivery truck struck it. The estimates I got were both for $2,100. After six weeks their (delivery truck's) insurance company offered me $2,200 for my car as a total loss. The NADA value is $3,000 - 4,450, do I have to settle for the amount they offered or can I hold out and demand more?

You can certainly demand more, however, you will need to prove to them why your vehicle is worth more than they offerred.

If you carry collision coverage for your vehicle, your best bet is to let your own insurance co. handle your damages. They will most likely treat you much more fairly, as you are their customer.

Your company will then send the bill to the responsible party's insurance company to recover their money, as well as your deductible.

You will recover your deductible after your insurance company collects from the responsible party's insurance company.
