What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Illinois
I work for a large corporation based in Cleveland with divisions throughout the US. The division I am employed at is in Illinois. I am a salaried exempted employee in a sales position, which requires me to travel about 40% of the time. A new General Manager was recently assigned to our division, and has now told the sales staff that we are to travel on what we consider our own time. That is to travel after 6:00pm and on weekends. Is it legal for a company to compel an employee to travel like this? Also, as far as I know no other division in my company has a rule like this.
