So why are they saying he has diabetes but not treating him? Are they testing his blood sugar several times a day? Does he take medicine for it? If he is diabetic he should be getting a diabetic diet. None of this makes sense.

PleurX® drainage system

Equip your patients to manage effusions and ascites at home

The PleurX® system helps patients manage recurrent pleural effusions and malignant ascites at home. The system includes an indwelling catheter and vacuum bottles that allow patients to drain fluid quickly, effectively and safely. We also provide support for patient education and training.

Google pleurx and you will find a ton of links on the first page from the company that will help you with the pleurx system. If you are being stuck doing it you need to educate yourself as much as possible.

I don't know exactly what type of facility this is so I can't give specific direction so you'll have to do some sleuthing. Find the state regulatory office for the type of facility involved and contact them. If the treatment is as you describe there are myriad rules violations the state should be investigating.

"If the treatment is as you describe there are myriad rules violations the state should be investigating." - I agree, but I spoke with everyone in the hospital even notified the CEO, but nothing.
I guess I'll do some research to try and find the state regulatory office. But without any type of reason to go on, it's definitely not worth my time. I don't want to say I want $x, but at this point someone has to be responsible for this.

Forgot to add this, the elevator's permit from the Health & Safety dept, is outdated by a month. Brought it to there attention already, but nothing yet.

Even so there is a myriad of rule violations, what can I do? Guess I can only find the state regulatory office and ask.

I asked lawyers and they all keep referring me, does anyone know what type of lawyer I should consult?

I'm sorry if I made it sound like they're not treating him. They are testing his blood sugar several times a day and do a great job at it, following up with insulin, etc. Just recently they started his diabetic diet after being diagnosed, but every so often, they keep forgetting.

"None of this makes sense." - Yes I know. Trust me, I'm not giving any misinformation here, this is the type of incompetence I'm dealing with here.

I just want to know if I have anything to go on here. I'm not trying to nit pick a lawsuit or something, I just want to know what my options are or if I should just suck it up.

It's impossible to say if there is any action available to you, in the legal sense. You have not really given much information about the situation that is meaningful

Since you don't appear to want to take the simplest steps (contacting the involved state agency) and only appear to wish to seek some form of legal redress I'm going to step on out of the thread. You think it not worth your time to involve the state regulatory agency involved yet you have time to complain here and contrmplate what legal action you can take.

People whose first thought is to sue tend to bug me. They obviously are less interested in a remedy than either stirring up **** or making a buck on the deal.

Do you think I just did nothing for 6 months? Do you know how many times I complained, how many RN's, how many head nurse's, how many CNA's, LVN's, CFO, and CEO I complained to? You think what I said is not meaningful and just hot air? That's just the tip of the ice berg buddy. The reason you think that I don't want to take the simplest steps is because I have done everything, except that and they all resulted in NOTHING. You sound like you never been in this type of situation before and you think your post counts as real life experience, well they don't buddy.
Yeah you're such a great guy thinking you can accuse me and making people on this thread reading thinking I want to make a quick buck, by suing just for money.
If you want to step on out of the thread, good. You contributed nothing but just slandering my name making people think I'm out just to sue someone for NOTHING and a quick buck. Should I be grateful that they didn't slap my dad because he refused to take medication? You sir are the problem and you should step on out of the thread because you don't contribute **** to what I need and you don't know the slightest bit of what I'm going through. Tell me I have nothing and I'll stop wasting people's time.

I just want this place to please fix there overstaffed and overworked employee's so at least patients can have the care they deserve. That's all I ask for, is that so hard to ask?

Bye, no one wants you here.

Complaining to LVNs, RNs, CNAs and head nurses IS a waste of hot air and yes, it IS nothing but complaining. But since you wish to be rude to other volunteers who have attempted to help you, I certainly am NOT going to give you the benefit of my experience.
