ok, i call up dollar bank and say there have been unauthorized charges on my Mastercard. they ask if i still have the card and i say yes so whoever stole it must have used it online with the numbers and so these were card-not-present transactions without my signature. Also, dollar bank made me file a police report which i did. Dollar Bank gave me a provisional credit for the claim and said i may have to pay it back if they investigate and rule against me. So now i get a letter from them saying that someone at my residence signed for one item ordered and that the person would have had too much of my personal information so they are makign me pay back the money. There was like 4 disputed transactions, and they dont even mention all 4 , just that one transaction, but because someone signed for the one, which wasnt me or my signature!, that they are makign me pay for all of them. All the letter reads is that if i want copies of the documents used to make their decision, then i can ask fo rit which i quickly wrote to them and did, but isnt there a way of apealing their decision?? Like can i contact Mastercard who gives them the ability to accept mastercard in the first place. I just dont see how they can rule in the merchants favor when these are card not present transactions and therefore no signature of mine. I could see if they would maybe want to take the one transaction back that someone signed for (when i wasnt home though and isnt my signature) but thats only one fourth of the charges i disputed and there is no proof or anything that i made the other charges which i didnt. It seems like unless u say u lost ur card, that they dotn believe you which is bs. I could see if the police investigated from the report i made and said i did it, then dollar bank would have the right to demand the money back but the police never said that and never will. what can i do to appeal this or can Mastercard help me in anyway?

and what happened when you called them back and asked about the other 3 charges and why they refused the fraud complaint? I would suggest they do have a reason whether they provided it to you or not. Ask for it. They have to be able to support their refusal.

so, are all the disputed charges from the same merchant? If so, what happened to the other merchandise? Where was is sent to? Who signed for it?

and to the one that came to your house; get a name and a copy of the signature and contact the police and tell them you want to file a report for theft and fraud and you know who the person is and where they live.

No , the transactions are from different merchants. Only that one transaction was real merchandise as the other three transactions was from vesta netspend and i looked that up and its online money or something.

then ask the CC company why they denied the fraudulent use claim.

well, they apparently were supplied with the name of the signer. You can get it as well. Contact the merchant and ask them for a copy of the signature and the name.

he said "then ask the CC company why they denied the fraudulent use claim"

well, its dollar bank, not a CC company, but its still covered by mastercard as the person didnt use my pin. they were credit transactions . the Only reasns given that they denied it was that someone signed for the one and that the person woudlve had too much of my personal information for the other ones i guess. Whoever works in this department is rediculous to give those as reasons and should be FIRED for not folling Mastercard's Zero Liability policy. I just looked up mastercards'zero liability policy on transactions used as credit transactions and here it is

"Have peace of mind knowing that the financial institution that issued your U.S. MasterCard card won't hold you responsible for "unauthorized purchases." Zero liability applies to purchases made in the store, over the telephone or made online. As a MasterCard cardholder you will not be responsible in the event of unauthorized purchases provided that the following preconditions are met:

•Your account is in good standing.
•You have exercised reasonable care in safeguarding your card from any unauthorized use**. Unauthorized use means that you did not provide, directly, by implication or otherwise, the right to use your card and you received no benefit from the "unauthorized" purchase.
(**Failure to register certain cards will be considered as not safeguarding your card.)
•You have not reported two or more unauthorized events in the past 12 months."

I PASS ALL OF THOSE!!

THEY JUST SIGNED A FIRST INITIAL(NOT MINE) AND MY LAST NAME

I BET MASTERCARD WILL TELL ME ITS UP TO MY BANK, BUT THE BANK IS CLEARLY NOT FOLLOWING MASTERCARD'S ZERO LIABILITY POLICY! HAS ANYONE HERE EVER TRIED THAT AFTER HAVING THEIR UNAUTHORIZED CLAIM DENIED?

so, get a copy of it, take it to a handwriting analyst and have them give you an opinion of it being your signature or not. Then, if they say it isn't, hire the analyst as a professional witness and sue dollar bank.

and apparently for the money transactions, the info provided would be something not available to anybody you did not disclose it to. As such, they have defended their actions. If you disagree with them, sue them.

I bet you can win the $1k by spending as little as $40k or $50k.
