What is the name of your state? VA
This is goin to be long but i really need some advice n assurance in this situation. My boyf and I were at a party one nite. Upon entering a room to say hi to a friend, a guy cussed me out for no reason, then shoved me. My boyf became alarmed, yet, before even considering takin action, the guy punched him several times. I split it up and grabbed my boyf to leave. While exiting the room, the guy ran after us, pushed me out of the way and began fighting my boyf again. Again, he didnt even know him n there was no reason for the guy to take this action. So, for the third time they were split up and as we tried to leave again, the first guy tackled him to the floor and they fought, then two of the first guy's friends jumped in. My boyf was stabbed in the hand and in addition jumped by three guys. In fear for his life, he reached for a butter knife on the floor and stabbed back. Unfortunately, he stabbed the guy in the neck. Finally I managed, with help of others to get them off him and leave but we were also chased to my car and guys beat on the doors trying to break in as i pulled away. We called the police and so did the other party. They lied and said my boyf and I merely came in a stabbed the guy for no reason and that no one stabbed him so he must have purposely stabbed himself, when in all reality I was verbally and physically assaulted, he was punched first adn jumped and stabbed by three guys. He stabbed the one guy in self defense. What else could he do? No one would help him. He knew no one there so he feared for what these guys would do to him. ANyway, he is in jail without bond, charged with malicious wounding and the other guy is only charged with maming, though he stabbed him first AND jumped him! He also just got released from the hospital where he was on life support since an artery was nicked in his neck. My boyf went to the hospital too by the way. All witnesses there are lying for the men who jumped my boyf. The state has charged all of them but my boyf is still waiting to see the magistrate to put a warrant on them himself. Him and I are all alone in this and worried about wut may happen to him. We do have two witnesses who can prove that he was actually jumped and that i was assaulted, but they didnt actually see the stabbings. What is his chance of getting off on self defense? The guys are all know felons and he has a clean record except DUI. Please respond because we are alone in this surrounded by a bunch of liars. He is the true victim.
