my ex-girlfriend might be pregnant. and i'm certain that if this is the case, it would be my child. do i have any rights during her pregnancy, particularly, do i have the right to find out for sure if she is pregnant with my child? we live in california. thanks for any advice you can offer!

My response:

Your rights, as the prospective father, only begin upon a live birth. Until then, you just sit and wait. Then, after the live birth, one or both of you sees an attorney who files a Petition for Custody, Visitation and Child Support - - along with a paternity test.

Wait until she looks like she has gained weight. Then, go over to her and tell her she looks fat and should go on a diet immediately!

If she takes the nearest heavy object and smashes your skull then she is not pregnant.

If she busts out crying and runs away, then she is pregnant.

Thanks, I kinda thought that would be the deal. And LegalBeagle, thanks for the insight, if I thought I might see her again, I'd try that out ;-)

I appreciate the help, I'll wait it out and see what happens. Hopefully for all involved, she isn't actually pregnant.
