Update from Court

What is the name of your state? Arkansas
I have great news! Not only do we keep full custody of my daughter, her mother has 30 days to pay arrearages, pay her half of my daughters medical bills and our attorney fees. If she dosen't comply she will be held in contempt and go to jail until it's paid. Everyone is so relieved that the judge saw through the lies she tried to tell. Our daughter is back from her visit with her mom and can get back to her life of sports, dance, music and school. (Not to mention a stable family that loves her) Thank You to everyone for your great advice and thoughts.

I am really happy to see it worked out. But can you explain something to me? I am just feeling really goofey and am wondering how this works, "If she dosen't comply she will be held in contempt and go to jail until it's paid". That seems almost impossible!!! But hey if you can figure out how it works I would be less reluctant to press contempt charges against my ex!:D

The judge answered your question in court. After he said she had 30 days to comply he said that people always say "How can I pay if I'm in jail". The judge said that the threat of jail time motivates people to come up with the money they owe. He also said that supporting your children should be a priority above anything. In the ex's case her parents will pay what she owes to keep her out of jail. Well, we are off to church and then to get a keyboard (My daughter starts piano this week). Thanks again for everything!
