What is the name of your state? CA

My wife and I had been planning a Italy trip for years. We told her work (disney) a year ahead of time about the dates of our trip, then every month from then on out she gave reminder notes/requests to the supervisors. They said her vation time was maxed out and had to be used. which we had no problem with. THey said okay to the vacation and we bought the tickets etc.. now days before we leave they say nevermind that they need her to work and she'll just have to work instead of going on a vacation. When the issue of calling in sick came up, they said that she'll accumulate enough 'points' doing that, and they would fire her. If we have to now cancel our vacation can do we have a case to get our money back from the vacation, what other steps can we take. what laws are there the side with us. If a verbal promise is made and now they recind that, can they do that. I understand that vacation is just a request, but its seems they are being malicious in there actions and are setting her up to fall
thanks

There isn't really a whole lot you can do. It is not illegal for an employer to rescind their approval for an employee's previously requested vacation. Stinks, especially since they have been reminded on this for months, but not illegal. Has your wife discussed this with HR? Maybe they can talk a little sense into her supervisor.
