Hello,

Columbus, Ohio

I had a vehicle repossessed in March of 1994.

On 4/6/94 I received a notice telling me that they were going to auction the car and I would be responsible for the balance owed after auction.

On 6/7/94 I received the notification of sale amount and balance still owed.

I never paid anything on this and I have never heard anything more from the finance company.

Am I still liable for this debt?

Thanks

My response:

Unfortunately, yes.

In most States you wouldn't because in most States the Statute of Limitations would have run out a long time ago.

However, Ohio is one of only a handful of States that has a 15 (fifteen) year Statute of Limitations.

So, realistically, they could come after you until the year 2009.

AND IF THAT 15 YEAR STATUTE OF LIMITAION IS CORRECT WELL I'VE HEARD OF SOME CREDITORS EVEN WAITING RIGHT BEFORE THE TIME LIMITAION IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE AND FILING JUDGEMENT AGAINST YOU SO THEY WILL STILL AHVE A CHANCE AT GETTING THEIR MONEY...
