I am a UK citizen and will be returning to the UK soon after staying for the maximum time allowed on the visa waiver program. I am hoping to return for a couple of weeks at Christmas/ New Year - will I encounter any problems re-entering the US so soon after leaving it on a visa waiver? How long is recommended?? The reason I am returning so soon is to spend Xmas with my girlfriend. I also wanted to know if the immigration officer will know how long I have just recently stayed on this visa waiver, i.e. can see I stayed the 89 days. Thankyou for any answers.

I would bring evidence that you intend to return to the UK, such as a lease or employment letter. If they think you have immigrant intent, they can deny you entry.
