Check the court files and see if she filed notice of her move... send a letter to her last known address. When it comes back check to see if it is "unable to forward" or "forwarding expired"... that will give an attorney or a PI helpful information that would keep your costs down.
You can also write "forwarding address requested" on the envelope and if she did have mail forwarded you will get a post card from the post office with the information on it.

You can search phone, electric, cable records. you can also google search her name or do a search on any of the multiple sites like facebook, myspace, and twitter. You may not be able to get into some of those records but a good PI can.

A typical location search will run you around $200.

thank you for your help

The only person I know who definately know where she would be is her mother but her entire family is mad at me for what I did and I know they wont give me her contact information. I guess I can do the mail thing and see what comes out of it. Thank you

Ok... so start paying the CS. Show her mom the receipts and state that you are serious about making amends. Don't ask for contact info to reach her, GIVE YOUR CONTACT INFO to her mom and ask for her to contact you.

It might take time, but if you are serious and persistent (without harassing) you should be able to get ahold of her.

I don't agree with this for one reason.

The mother could or could not decide to let him know where she is. This could take another 6 months to a year (maybe less but who knows) Dad needs to get things started as soon as possible so that the child is not any older when he is re introduced to her. As the child gets older it will be harder to bond back with her.

Your suggestion is leaving this totally up to the mom if she wants him to have any contact with the child.
