What is the name of your state?CT

I am pretty sure that I need to file my divorce papers in NY state but want to confirm. My husband and I were married in NY, our legal seperation was filed in NY, he still resides in NY. I have since moved to CT however and was wondering if I can file in CT or if I have to file in NY. Thanks

My response:

New York is the place. You started it there, and that's where it ends. You should have waited and filed in Connecticut.

Thanks for the response, unfortunatley I didn't know that I was moving until after I had filed. I was offered a great job opportunity 2 months after and decided to go. Perhaps you could help me with another question, I know it belongs in another forum but I have your attention on this one.

I have a son.....not my son to be ex's child...I have sole custody with no visitation to his birth father. I have not seen my sons birth father in 6 years and have heard from him once. I don't know where the birth father is... I beleive he is in TN but have nothing concrete. I was wondering if I need to move anything to the family courts here. There is nothing pending and I do not have a support order. I did notify my sons paternal grandmother of the move prior to it because she is the only one I have conatct with and she will not tell me where the birth father is located. Any advice you have would be great thanks
