I'm searching for an attorney to represent me in fighting a non-compete clause that deals with distance, time and contacts....I was terminated by the company and started my own firm. I have been served with a summonses informing me they are seeking an injunction to prevent me from conducting business.....

My question is what to ask an attorney regarding his/her qualifications, experience and expertise is in this field? And how do I determine how truthful he/she is, do I have a right to ask for references and can I ask for their track record in this field.

Any other information would be appreciated.

Thanking you in advance

questions?

I'm no legal eagle, but I would think that you could consult an employment lawyer. Does Florida, or your particular city, have a bar association? I know in my state of TX, we have a local bar association that provides referrals, free legal clinics etc. Perhaps your city has something similar. I would trust these people as professionals in their field who could offer you good, reliable advice on your situation. I would also think that any credible lawyer would be able to provide some form of reference/indicator of their competence/trustworthiness.
