What is the name of your state? Idaho is where I live but the suport order is from Oregon..
Statement: My husband lost his drivers license about 1 year ago due to past support arrearages any job is our area making $7.00 an hour is considered a good job.. ( I don't think the employers out here heard of inflation or the realistic cost of living)
Shortly after he lost his job due to not being able to have transportation into work.. we live high in the Mountains and in the sticks carpooling is not an option. I cannot drive as I have epilesy and can not obtain a drivers license. I do work out of home useing the internet and have been supporting us barely for the last year. My husband is at his wits end.
He now got offered a job working for the Department of parks and recrecation for the state of Idaho - well of course this job not only details driving to and from work but also driving is part of the job description. He has not yet actually accepted the postion offered to him as without a drivers license it is senseless to accept. The job would start April 15th. (which by the way is $7.25 /hour big time pay - I mean that sarcastically but it really is considered good pay out here!!!)
Question: How does one get their license back - of course we cannot afford to pay off the total in arrears as we hardly get enough for food on our table. So do they have something like a work permit or something on that nature? I guess I don't get the taking away of license as a way to help retrieve child support.
Does anyone have any suggestions - I have contacted his case worker and asked what to do - as if they do not get back to him with a response quickly he will have to turn down the job.
Please any input would be appreciated...
Thank you,
