I'm in the state of WA. I was traveling home one evening and a car was tailgating me on a dark road for about 10 miles. It was pouring down rain. I stopped behind a car to turn onto the hwy. All of a sudden a person on a bike fell onto the road (on my right side to the right and in front of my car). I did not hit the bike. I didn't get out of the car because I was frightened of the people behind me. I watched the bicyclist get up and walk away. Should I have gotten out? Should I have reported it? I didn't hit him, but I wonder if the person behind me turned me in just because. What if any ramifications do I have?

Quite frankly, your story sounds suspicious.

If the bike rider says you hit and ran, that's a real danger. Particularly, as you did not make a call or report the incident immediately after your were out of the perceived danger from the guy following you for 10 miles.

If you hit him, get a lawyer's advice NOW.
