What is the name of your state? california
I'm an immigrant from Russia.I've been married an American for 1.8 month, have come to the USA in the Oct. 2000, have a child from the last marriage. My husband is starting a devorce process with me. I still don't have a driver license, SSN, any account, any credit card plus I don't work. He has finally filed a papers for my Conditional residence status in June of 2002. What will happen with me and my son after the devorce in this situation? I don't have money to pay for the attorney, I can only rely on myself. Thank you for any reply.

I'm not expert.... but

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think once you have a child in the US you become a citizen. I know for a fact your child is a American Citizen unless he was born outside the us.

You are probably rigth but my problem is that my child is not an American, he was born in Russia. I've divorced my 1-st husband 6 years ago. And in 1999 I've joined a marriage agency hoping that this time I'll find a good man and finally will build a family. My present husband doesn't want a kids and looks like he's got tired of me too, you know, "I've played enough with this toy, now it is time to throw it away" (I'm sorry for these words). Thank you for your reply.
