What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? KY
You guys helped me with a few previous questions, any help with this would be nice,
My hearing is at the end of the week to setup Child Support, This hearing came about because about a month and a half ago I filed a putative father claim, got the DNA test done and proved my paternity.
2 weeks after the DNA test, My ex's mother got her a lawyer, they filed a motion for the judge to consider whether I should have my visitation restricted because I am a danger to the child. That motion is going to be considered during the support hearing.
I've lived with my son and his mother all but the last two months since he has been born, we've never been in any kind of trouble so I dont think that my visitation will be restricted. But still I got some questions.
What exactly will be decided during this hearing? I understand that the support will be decided and thats fine. But about the restricted visitation, will the judge just decide whether or not to restrict my visitation? If he decides that I dont need to have my visitation restricted, what will happen then? Does order a standard visitation schedule? or will they ask us to try to work out a schedule and set a future hearing date to set the visitation? Or do I need to go and file my own seperate motion to set up visitation?
I havent been able to afford a lawyer, although I do have a consultation with one this Thursday and I will finally have the money to hire one. I haven't filed any motions as far as visitation is concerned and I'm not really sure what and how these things are done. Any advice would be great.
