I need some advice as to what to do. Me and my ex are at odds as to where to put our daughter in school next year for kindergarten. I have physical primary custody. My daughter is bi-racial, and we live in a mostly white community, and my ex is refusing that she go to any schools where we currently live. He wishes for her to go to school where he lives, about an hours drive from where we live, but the schools really don't compare. Yes, they are more diverse... but I think that race should not be the only factor in deciding where she will go to school. I realize that with her being biracial that there will be issues, and I am prepared to deal with that full force. But there are ignorant people no matter where you go... and It wouldn't be a problem to move closer to where her father lives, due to yeah, there is more diversity in the bigger cities, but with the economy right now, I can't really leave my job (the one i have now took 6 months to get), and it is permanent.
So what would you do if you were in my shoes? I don't really want to go to court with him about it... and i feel right now, that is where we are headed. He states that if i place her in school here, i will be in contempt of court because i didn't discuss it with him, and he didn't agree.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
