What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CT

Can I fill and file court sentence modification papers for people for money? I did it for a family member before and his sentence was modified. Can i do it as like they are representing themselves?

Or does it constitute as practicing law without a license?

"LEGAL ADVICE" Does it count if I am telling them a first hand experience of what happened for a particular legal event?

You would likely be committing a crime.

If you help a family member or a friend in figuring out how to fill out the forms, that is not practising law without a license. However, if you do it for them, and charge a fee, it is.

Now, if you officially become a paralegal, get licensed according to the state of CT, and adhere to alll of the rules, then you may be permitted to draw up paperwork for other people, for pay.

Are you sure of this? Can you post the law?

You are practicing law without a license. Congrats.

The first part is common sense. It is never illegal to help someone do something themselves.

The second part does not require citing any laws because I was very careful in the wording.

Paralegals must be directly supervised by an attorney licensed in their state.

What Corp900 did in the past for a family member, and has proposed doing for pay in the future, was and would be practicing law without a license.

Except that you are incorrect. Having someone pay you or doing it for free is NOT what determines practicing law without a license. OP has practiced law without a license based on what he has stated. Also the extent to which "help" is provided can be considered practicing law without a license.
