Near Branson so it is in the Ozarks for sure. I had reason to call the PD in a big town in that area, I reached the chief, town was so small he knew who I was inquiring about 3 years later by just the address. LOL! some of the counties courts are not on line, Texas and Wright counties are not, so it may take calls ahead of time to both the courts and the PD.

If the divorce was done in Stone County, do we start with that courthouse?
The CP & kids moved to Taney County since then, kids are still in Taney, but the CP now resides in an Arkansas jail (& hopefully will be transferred to a "not so comfortable" prison for a long time!)

Thanks so much! Is there a similar website for Arkansas? I'd love to find the EXACT charges she was arrested for there...

I've googled, but don't seem to come up with anything....even tried to find any AR newspaper article regarding the arrest, but came up empty.

Thanks again.

My response:

Okay. But Missouri does recognize the old UCCJA, which only differs slightly from the UCCJEA and, for our writer's purposes and situation, would accomplish the same thing.

IAAL

What if dad does have some form of joint custody? I realize that he still can't just go get the kids now...but once mom is sentenced and actually goes to jail wouldn't he be able to do that if he has some form of joint custody? Could that also be the reason why an attorney might advise to just go get the kids? If CA has jurisdiction because the case originated there couldn't that also be a reason? I think there could be some unanswered questions that could put things in a different light.

I agree however that he probably should just file for emergency custody now in whichever state has jurisdiction.

Stone Co Missouri has Jurisdiction, not California, however Father can get emergency custody order and permission to take children to California and if and/or when mom is convicted petition to move jurisdiction to California, remember, Grandmother, having a relationship and tempoary custody of the children might fight this or seek visitation.

You are welcome, and remember not everything may be on line even in counties with online access, you will have to make some calls and possibly pay someone there to search at the courthouse, the clerk will tell you what to do. Stone Co is verry verrrrry small!

Here is a link to the Arkansas courts, http://courts.state.ar.us/ the police may be able to check on the charges etc. again, not all cases may be on line, but the courts will have more access than you.

Not everything will come up on a Google search, so you may want to go to each Arkansas Co website and search the site for her name, starting in the north.

Wow! That looks like it will be great help. I spent numerous hours last night looking for a criminal record on my fiance's ex's b/f. We are in Illinois...anyone know where we can find that info? Preferably without a charge. I know that it is meth, unsure of the exact charge. The ex lives with him and we are trying to find out if that is grounds for custody motification.

Sorry! Last time that I started a new thread I was asked to post my questions in a related thread instead of starting a new one.

Well if you already have a related thread started, then update on that thread with your question, please don't hijack unrelated threads, is is confusing.

Thanks once again! I had been to the site previously, but didn't dig deep enough....I was able to find out what jail she is in and registered to be notified when custody and/or court changes happen! It didn't give me the charges, but I'll make a call. This helps....thanks!
