when statute of limitations run

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
I was supposed to make monthly loan payments, but I made payments periodically. There was no agreement about the exact date on which I was supposed to make payments, or if there was it was oral and I don't remember it. The last payment I made was on January 29, 2005, and the lender cashed it on February 5, 2005. The payment before that was in September, and before that it July. Under California's 4 year statute of limitations, when has the statute of limitations run on the debt?

What kind of debt is it? And the SOL STARTS running usually 30 days from the date of the last payment made.

It was a private student loan. I was wondering if it starts running from the date of the last payment or from the date the next payment was due. So I guess it's the latter.
