Thanks again everyone.

Let me be clear. My child is 16 years old and up until a year ago I was not a parent ordered to pay support, although I haven't been with my ex for over 11 years. I've been doing a more than adequate job as a parent supporting my child financially and other wise.

It seems however, that because my ex continues to have more children and remain on Public Assistance our Courts saw fit for me to begin paying this support. Because of this I can no longer afford to do for my child as I have in the past and now suddenly my child is explaining to me she isn't receiving the money.

This is my reason for seeking help from you guys.

Hey I used all of your advice!! You people kicking me in the behind was the reason I got off my stubborn rear and finally married the hubs via court ceremony after a waaaaaay too long lament of "we cant get married yet because we dont have time for a wedding because of <----------->insert excuse on dotted line :D

We still havent had time for an actual ceremony yet HEHE :p

i actually cried at my court ceremony. i am so glad it wasn't a "real" wedding. i was a bluthering idiot the whole time. i think the judge snorted. if it wasn't the judge, it was one of our guests.

BOY do i know how you feel LOL :D!

We had known for a good long while that we wanted to get married but with me facing all the nonsense i was dealing with school wise, i was stubbornly putting it off until i could have what i thought to be a "real" wedding. It was all of you crazy people on here that actually gave me the idea to just grab the hubs and get it over with and worry about the rest later. Now in hindsight i cant believe how glad i am that i wisened up LOL! It broke both of our parents hearts that we did it that way because they had the whole vision of the ceremony and the cake and what-not, which is great BUT...i remember the hell that the sis went through to plan her wedding and now i'm just relieved that i didnt have to go through the same thing. I know we'll eventually have a ceremony (mostly for the parents ;)) but we're just glad at this point that we at least got the important stuff out of the way.
