What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Arkansas

My 4 month old Toyota truck was totaled when I was hit head on due to negligence on the part of the other party. After 3 months, the other insurance company finally paid off the truck last November.

I just received a letter stating I was due a refund for the Used Vehicle Service Agreement I had on that truck. However, after talking with the company that sold me the agreement, they said they sent the refund to the dealer I originally purchased the truck from who, in turn, sent the money to Toyota. So I emailed Toyota who said they issued a refund in December to the address on my account.

I never received a refund. Am I entitled to this refund? Or just who is?

Thanks!

I think there should be a partial refund due to you, which is what the check that was sent to you was probably for. You didn't own the truck for long enough to really use the agreement, but I suspect the term of it may have been for several years. So they probably pro-rated the cost of the agreement based on how long you had the truck for and refunded you the difference.

I'd contact Toyota, ask them to put a stop payment on the check they sent you, and reissue one. Make sure they send it to your current address!

When I traded in my car a few years ago, they sent my extended warranty refund first to the bank who funded my car. After checking to see that the car was paid off and no amount was due, the refund was sent to me. It took quite awhile though. Also, did you have a cosigner? I was a co-signer.. so the check was first sent to the person listed first on the loan(which was forwarded to me.)

The refund was sent to the dealer and back to Toyota and then to me! And you're right--it took months! Thanks!
