What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California

Hi Everyone! I have a warrant for my arrest but I am saving up money for a great lawyer. I was accused of petty theft with a felony at work even though I never left my work with the money. I never had previous arrests or judgements against me. I just found out that the police has been looking for me a lot at my previous residence. I don't understand because I am attaining a degree in Criminal Justice and one of my professors was a Police Officer and he said that since I am at a low priority for cops to even try to attempt to find me. I do not understand why they are attempting to look for me since I am of low priority and I am not a threat to society. I do not understand why they are persistent on the search for me. I can't wait to have enough money to settle this case already because this is making me lose focus on my studies. Thanks for reading. Any advice would be great!

Why thougH?

Hi I did find a lawyer who did look into my warrant because I was confused on why I had one issued out. However, there was only that one count of petty theft and it took they a year passed to place that file against me. So I do not understand why the sudden urge to find me. The odd thing is the fact that my professor looked into finding my warrant and couldn't find one out for me. So now I am very confused. So what do you mean that something happen more? They could add more to a case even if they have placed it?

When there is a warrant, the police will look for the person. We also do not normally put warrants out on web sites or bulletin boards, so if there IS a warrant for your arrest, I'm not surprised that your professor can't find it.

Perhaps the police have some questions to ask you - there may not even be a warrant.

Answered in your own post with: "I have a warrant for my arrest".
I would guess THAT might have something to do with why they are looking for you, huh??

So confusing :T

Hi thanks for your reply. I'm still so confused on the fact that if I do have a warrant and I am of low priority why is the police persistent on finding me? It's like I'm a suspect for something other than what I was accused of. The lawyer I worked with mentioned only one count of accusation of petty theft. So why urgency of finding me. I don't know what's going on but I'm terrified of the whole situation. I don't understand. Oh and my professor still works for the force because I mentioned he used to be an officer but he is still currently works for them as well as teach Criminal Justice.

Thanks for your reply. This is why I asked a question why the police are looking for me with such persistance, as if I'm a fugitive you know those high case priorities such looking for murderers and such. However, I am of low case priority and usually they would be concentrating on finding people who would be a THREAT to society. Do you understand why I'm asking? So please don't knock me if you're intentions are just to mock my curiousity. This is why I'm here to get my questions answered.

Why don't you take the money you already saved and hire an average lawyer. That way you will find out sooner what is going on and you can concentrate on your school studies.

My lawyer doesn't call

I did find a great lawyer who wouldn't charge me A LOT!! But he hasn't called me back yet. So hopefully he will soon otherwise I would have to find another good criminal defense lawyer. *sigh* It's so sad because I'm losing focus on my studies because of this accusation. It's so sad. I do hope he calls me back otherwise I need to find another lawyer. Thanks for the response :)
