My wife works at a daycare. There are evil friendships and inner circles within the other people at the daycare. The problem is that there are friends that wants to work together and since my wife started back (she was laid off for a bit) the friends aren't working together now.

The girl my wife is working with went to the boss and claimed that my wife wasn't helping out and this isnt' the first time. I know my wife and she is a hard worker. So the boss talked to my wife. My wife explained her side and the boss said she would watch it tomorrow. This isn't the first time it has happened and it isn't the first time that the boss has said she would fix the problem.

My wife comes home crying almost all the time. She cant just up and quit because our kids are getting free daycare as long as she works there. I just cant stand to see her crying all the time when I go to pick her up. Its total BS.

I was just wondering if this files under "harassment" in any way shape or form.

Thank you for your time.

I'm sorry, but unless your wife has a valid reason to believe that she is being treated poorly BECAUSE OF her race, religion, national origin, etc., this is not illegal harassment and the boss has no legal obligation to do anything.

The law does not require that an employee's co-workers be nice to her.

I'm much more sympathetic to your wife's situation than it may appear, having been in a similar position. (In my case, it was my boss that was giving me the hard time, not just a co-worker!) But nothing you have posted gives her any legal recourse. I'm sorry I can't give you a different answer.
