I posyed this as a reply to an earlier similar thread but think it probably will get best response as new message .thx
We live in WA it is a community property state:

My wife is being threathened to suit by CC company for charged off card debt that is in her name only. she is not employed and does not have any real income and only joint assests with me.. If they get judgement can they attached my wages? according to previous thread this is not an issue even in CP state. thx

You would have to be named as a defendant in the case to have your wages garnished. But any money in any joint bank accounts is fair game, even if the sole source is your income.

I understand about joint bank account but if my income is sole source and my name is not ob the judgement could I not get an exemption from account funds seizure if it gets to that..thx for your reply..

Open an account in your name only and start depositing your paychecks in that one, like yesterday.

Nope, general wages are not exempt from siezure in Washington. As long as her name is on the account, it is her property regardless of the source. You would be wise to separate any and all assets till this is taken care of.
