What is the name of your state? TX

I got a DUI in California 2 years ago and I recently moved to Texas. In my line of work I would be required to drive a company truck and everyone knows the situation I’m in. I just moved here, so I haven't got a Tx license yet, so I have been using my California license for my employer's to use for a Motor Vehicle Record Check on my driving background. Of course it’s coming back with a DUI hit and I am getting turned down everywhere I go. I don’t know what to do anymore!!! I have a family to feed and it is the only line of work I have been doing for years and it’s the work that brings home the bacon so to speak. I know I shouldn’t have got a DUI, but I did and I can’t change it. What I was wondering is, I am going to get my Tx license tomorrow and when I do can I use my new Tx license to give to my employer, and do you know if my California DUI will show up on my Tx Motor Vehicle Record? You know if they run my MVR will my DUI from California show up??? I heard that in some states or in most cases states vary from state to state and each state has its own rules. I know if I got a DUI in Texas my DUI from California would show up in court, but I’m just talking about my MVR!! Please Help!

A: If you still have points on your other license, those will probably show up in TX and the reason for them showing up will be on the record also.

Points on a license in California come off after a year, but for insurance and local law officers can see you have a DUI if I get pulled over. As far a it showing up on my Tx MVR doesn't that depend on how Texas does its checks and balances? If I get my License tomorrow it my take a while for it to show up no? Maybe I don't know if your not sure just let me know because after I get my license I'm giving my license number to my friend who is going to run my MVR and see if it shows up.

A: I suspect they check your other license when you turn it in for the TX license.

A: Good idea. Also, ask TX MVR your questions. Don't tell them your name.

Things have changed over the years. Now most all States in the country with the exception a a few will find out your status from another State you have came from. It is just a time issue. it may take months or weeks depending on the D.M.V. itself. But, one thing for sure in time Texas will find the DUII and it will be come part of your record or susension where you are now. I would certainly check into a work related license when and if this occures. I wish you well.
