What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? va

my husband now works for a new HVAC company. the previous company had it's own vans and gas cards so we never had to pay for gas. now he has to use his own car and we are now spending more money on gas. can we deduct the mileage or gas cost? can we take a depreciation on the car? which irs publication should i look at to get this information?

thanks.
