What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA
I wanted to get a second opinion. I am a healthcare worker and was hired by a practice that I felt was conducting illegal activity. I notified them, resigned and wanted my pay.
They did not want to. I filed a lawsuit and eventually the case was arbitrated by JAMS. They ordered my employer to make the payment last week.
However, they then sent me a "writ of summons" for "intentional slander", not only for me, but my wife also which is laughable. My lawyer thinks that these are delaying tactics to get leverage on me.
I cannot recall a single incident where I intentionally slandered these people.
1) Can they be punished for this?
2) What does this 'writ of summons' means? Do I have to appear in court?
My lawyer is away on vacation from country and I am stressing.
Your help will be appreciated.
