deecar69, I worry that your book is going to offend others because you are already dangerously close to offending members of this forum with your writing.
Some of what you wrote in the post I have quoted above is advice I can turn around and also give to you. As you sit down to write about the people in your past, you cannot afford to become "caustic" or "pissy." You will need to "hold your tongue a bit and think about the ramifications your tone may have on that person."
On this forum, we can say things that are not going to result in a lawsuit because all of us are (relatively) anonymous. When you publish a book about real people from your life however, whether these people are identified by name or identifiable by the content, you do not have the luxury of saying whatever you want. You risk having legal action taken against you.
