What is the name of your state? CA

I recently bought a house next to another house that is subdivided into two four-bedroom apartments in violation of local zoning ordinances. As far as I know, the house had been divided into two 2 bedroom units for years, but some time within the last five years, the former owner remodelled to increase the bedrooms to 4 for maximum section 8 rent. Now the new owner is renting to two large families, totalling about 15 people living there. Anything I can do about that?

keep making a stink with your city council person , your mayor , those people are elected , they will follow up on enough complaints to force the owner of the house next door to bring the property back in to compliance with local zoning . other wise that is all you can do .

**A: call your local health, zoning, building, housing etc. departments and order inspections.

18 new neighbors in one house, 8 cars too...

CA.
...I have the same problem. A half million dollar house next door was sold, and the new owner rented it out to about 4 families. This is an old retirement type neighborhood, and the cars, noise, etc of the new renters have the entire neighborhood in a tizzy. I have a car parked in front of my bedroom window now for over two weeks, and it does not move. I do not beleive it (the house) has been subdivided, it's just a lot of people in a single familiy, 3 bedroom house. What can we do?
